Supply chains​

HOLiFOOD’s ambition is to improve the food safety identification and assessment in three important food supply chains selected based on their importance in EU regarding a wide range of aspects such as economic impact and jobs, production volumes, societal importance and sensitivity to food safety contaminations.

Researching three different food systems will enable the consolidation of the holistic assessment framework, and progress towards proven, generic, holistic risk assessment methods for food.

→ Poultry and cereals: selected in relation to the One Health principle and for their importance throughout Europe.

→ Legume: selected as a small food crop for which an increase is expected due to its use as alternative to meat proteins.
