MEETING AIMS:

On Thursday 26 June 2025, the Food Micro Foundation organised a symposium at Hotel De Biltsche Hoek in De Bilt to discuss trends and developments in the field of chemical and microbiological contaminants.

Attention were paid to analytical methods, analytical strategies and challenges surrounding the detection of hard-to-define contaminants such as PFAS and mineral oils. Recent developments in the detection of pathogens, fungi and yeasts has been discussed.

Attention has been paid to the possibilities offered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) in processing and interpreting analysis data and the added value of DNA profiling and Whole Genome Sequencing.

 

HOLIFOOD’s PRESENCE:

The HOLiFOOD project got the opportunity to present the project and its preliminary results. This was also an opportunity to connect and network with other networks (Securefood, Utrecht University…).
