Every summer, EFSA in Parma hosts a seminar on risk communication, bringing together a group of young researchers and PhD students from various universities and research institutes across Europe.
This year, for the third time after 2023 and 2024, Ludger Benighaus from DIALOGIK chaired the first day of the week-long seminar. He introduced key concepts and approaches in risk communication and dialogue, setting the stage for a dynamic and thought-provoking programme.
Two HOLiFOOD case studies were featured: “The Asian Hornet and the Threat to Honey Bees” and “Chicken and Health Risks.” Participants – a group of 15 – worked in smaller sessions to tackle specific challenges related to the cases, developing risk messages and potential countermeasures.
The seminar was very well received, particularly due to its emphasis on open discussion, critical self-reflection, and interactivity.
